Heat

Wow, its so hot today. It is now 0140am and the temperature is 16c. Incredible. I felt it last night in bed. It was so stifling and today has been very opressive and sticky. I think what makes it worse is the fact there is no sun. Just heat. I feel mentally and physically drained. I think tonight I am going to have to leave my bedroom window open all night just to get a sleep.
Tonight at work started very slowly and in the first couple of hours there was maybe 2 deliveries. Then it all took off. I was rushed off my feet. I was the only driver tonight and I never stopped until the end of the night. I finished with 28 deliveries. However I am home now and i am going to get something to eat then watch TV before bed. Maybe have a beer too.

what is it all about

Another week starts for me at work. I have a feeling of hopelessness flooding over me. I am not keeping too good just now. I have a headache and I just want to sleep all the time. My eyes are stinging and I feel like theres nothing to look forward too.. Sadness is taking control again.
It will be my dear departed brothers birthday on the 21st, so maybe this has something to do with it but I dont know. The heat is getting too much but there is no sunshine so this might be a contributing factor too.
I see as i drive around, the bunting, flags and decorations are going up for the towns childrens day on Saturday. I used to get so exited about the childrens day but now it means nothing to me. Just people enjoying themselves while I must work.

Oh well I suppose it is life. my life

sleep

yesterday was not a good day for me. i was expecting my landlord at my flat at 1130 and i wanted to make sure the flat was up to standard for him coming. therefore i wanted to rise early to do the cleaning etc. I was afraid i would sleep in so therefore i woke nearly every 30 minutes the night before. the result was that i was so tired the whole day long. i could hardly keep my eyes open, and by the end of the day i was dead on my feet.

i went to bed and for the first time in ages i slept right through and i feel better for it. not only that i got a new air freshner for my flat and it played havoc with my nose and i spent the whole day sneezing. it felt that i had a really heavy cold but i did not.

anyway i feel better today.

Summer

Where has the British Summer gone. Apart from a glorious week last month, the weather has been dull, dull, dull. Dont get me wrong we get the occasional beautiful day and the temperature on the whole has been holding its end up, but at the time of year we are supposed to be getting wall to wall sunshine.

Maybe I am remembering previous years through rose coloured spectacles but I can remember sitting outside tanning myself for the entire month of June when I was younger. Sweet days of swimming in the sea and playing on the beach. I cant be wrong because I have pictures to prove these facts.

So what has gone wrong with the weather. Well I have my own theories. They may be far fetched but I believe it must surly have something to do with space exploration and all the junk that is circling around the earth, sattelites etc. Handy though they are in the modern age I still believe they have a contributing factor to todays weather.

We keep getting bombarded with talk of the global warming and how it is bad for the planet, but between you and me I could do with a little bit of global warming right now.

So come on Mr Sun show your face and cheer us all up. It is June after all.

Todays the Day for England

Well it has finally arrived. After months of hype and build up in the media in the UK, England finally kick off their World Cup challenge.

And what a build up we have had. The English media rise to such a height of national fervour. What they seem to forget is that they are broadcasting to the whole of the UK. The Scots, Welsh and Irish get English fervour shoved down their throats. Every time you switch the TV on or listen to the radio or read the newspapers its England, England, England. You must understand I am not speaking with Sour Grapes but it can get a little bit too much at times.

I have absolutly no problem with the players or the English people, but what I have a problem with is the media.

I actually hope the team plays well and goes far. Winning the trophy is another thing all together. If they win it we will never hear the end of it. It has been 44 years since England won the World Cup but nearly ever day we get '66 talked about in the media. Yes I know they are proud to have won it, but c'mon every day !! Not only that, and this is the worst thing, when there is an international game on TV, between two nations outwith the UK it takes the commentators less than 10 minutes before they mention England in some way. And England arent even playing !! Oh, and they always seem to shoehorn '66 in at some stage as well.

So come on England. Do the UK proud today. But commentators, and media, please remember, You are broadcasting nationwide, not just to England

The World Cup begins.

What a fantastic start for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The build up has been very exciting but the opening match was just as good and for me, lived up to the surroundings. To the background of happy cheering South Africans the tourament got off to a bang.

With the horns humming like a mass of bees South Africa got off to a terrific start. They scored a smashing goal in the second half to go one up over Mexico. I think all the neutrals watching were hoping they could just hold on until the end but it wasnt to be. Mexico equalised to make it 1..1. This was to be the final score and I think, on relection it was a just result. Mexico were the better side in the first half and South Africa were on top in the second.

So the Tournament is under way.

For us in the UK tomorrows match between England and the UK will have us glued to our TVs and radios. I am hoping for an England win. For the country and for the people, but not for the media.
